Victorians In Photographs

I found the above at Fisherman's Wharf Markets in Port Adelaide on Boxing Day.  From the style of the dresses the two young ladies are wearing I would say that it was taken in 1897 or 1898.   It appears to mark some special occasion - maybe the sitters were bridesmaids at a wedding?  The younger of the two is not quite grown up - her dress does not yet reach the ground and her hair is not pinned up (the two main ways young women of the era indicated they had reached adulthood).

Alas, the photographer's logo has worn off the card this is mounted on, so I can't figure out exactly where it was taken.
