Vogue Knitting Book no. 52 (Spring and Summer 1958)

"Chanel" appears to be the watchword for most of these elegant fashion knits.  For the rest, pastels and flowers are in vogue.

The Chanel touch—an easy V-necked jacket; cap-sleeved pullover and ribbed skirt.

A la Chanel—the casual look—cardigan-jacket, straight skirt.

The knitted look—for holidays
A gay shortie overblouse and skirt for off-duty fun.  Knitted in a bouclé wool for pebbly effect.

The prettiest choice for summer—a classical net cardigan embroidered with gay roses.  Pin-point them with beads for the evening.

The cardigan-blouse
Double-breasted and short, this jacket's an ideal cover-up for full-skirted summer dresses.  Knit it in a wool and rayon mixture and pastel colour—pastels are knitting headlines on the Continent.
